Why Is Dmg Elo Hell

  1. Why Is Dmg Elo Hell Free

Jan 29, 2017  Csgo Elo hell I refuse to do anything with this game anymore UNTIL they fix this mm trash going on right now. I have had 8 (yes 8 straight games) of the most trash talking, team killing, game throwing pieces of garbage teammates.

Elo hell (also known as MMR hell) is a video gaming term used in MOBAs and other multiplayer online games with competitive modes.[1][2] It refers to portions of the matchmaking ranking spectrum where individual matches are of poor quality, and are often determined by factors such as poor team coordination which are perceived to be outside the individual player's control. This ostensibly makes it difficult for skilled players to 'climb' up the matchmaking ranking (and out of Elo hell), due to the difficulty of consistently winning games under these conditions. Its existence in various games has been debated, and some game developers have called it an illusion caused by cognitive bias.[3]

History[edit]

The term was coined based on the Elo rating system designed by Arpad Elo, which was initially used for chess games but began to be used in video games as well.[1] It was initially used by the League of Legends community, but spread in usage to other games that used the same ranking system.[4] In these games, players are ranked based on their individual and team performance.[1] However, the shortcomings in this system are that comparatively unskilled players, with inflated ratings, can be matched via automated matchmaking to legitimately high skilled players and drag them down when they contribute to the loss of a match.[5] At low Elo, a skilled player will likely find it easy to rise in rank, while at high Elo, the quality of players improves.[5] However, there is a certain range where skilled players can remain stuck regardless of their personal skill, which is referred to as Elo hell.[2][5] In League of Legends, it is said to occur between the 1300 and 1500 range.[5]

Elo rankings have also been 'abused' by players who create parties of their friends in order to 'escape' Elo hell.[6] This has been addressed by forcing players who are in groups to play against groups of similar size.[6] Another way players have attempted to bypass Elo hell is by smurfing, or creating new accounts without a skill rating, which allows them to ascend in rank faster than they would with their original account.[7][8]

Elo hell has also been noted as existing outside of video games, such as in the matchmaking app Tinder, which also uses a variant of the Elo rating system.[4]

Effects[edit]

Why is dmg elo hello

Supposing that one is in Elo hell has been known to cause frustration and video game rage.[5] This can lead to toxic behavior amongst players who are angry at their teammates for sabotaging their Elo rating, whether the grievance is legitimate or not. This has caused games that use the Elo system to be noted as some of the most toxic games to play.[9][10]

Reception[edit]

Esports players of competitive games have recommended that players who are 'stuck in Elo hell' 'take every game seriously' and focus on winning at all costs.[2] They have also suggested that players should always blame themselves for any losses rather than blaming it on their team.[2] Esports critic and Youtuber Duncan 'Thorin' Shields claimed that Elo hell was actually caused by the player themselves, due to their positive illusions about their own skill.[11]

Riot Games claimed in a 2013 update to the matchmaking FAQ of League of Legends that Elo hell did not exist, citing the Dunning-Kruger effect and negativity bias from their worst experiences with the game as reasons why players believe the system is 'imbalanced'.[3] They also claimed that players needed 150-300 games to reach their 'true' matchmaking score.[3]

Dom Sacco of Esports News UK claimed that Elo hell does exist in League of Legends, and that escaping it is possible, but is a 'mammoth time sink'.[12]

Good

Experiments conducted by two Dota 2 players appeared to conclude that Elo hell did not exist in that game in a significant way, as an experienced player was able to raise their rank merely by playing well and 'carrying' their team.[13]

The third competitive season of Overwatch introduced changes in skill rating ostensibly designed to prevent players from being stuck in Elo hell.[14] However, in season five of Overwatch, in-game toxic behavior and community backlash only increased due to tweaks in the game's Elo algorithms, causing the game's competitive mode to become 'depressing'.[15]

Why Is Dmg Elo Hell Free

went from 980 to 1400 in a week when i finally decided to go ranked again after 5 months, never fell under 1400 again I DID IT MAINLY ON SUPPORT AND JUNGLER, why? 1: no need to fight with your teammates about being mid, top or ad 2: you´ll get support or jungler in 90% of the cases below 1300 elo is you just takes the roles the rest of you team needs 3: your teammates s**ks at farming so you has to get them fed WITH KILLS and they can´t ward so why not pick a jungler there can afford a few wards for the lanes early and give vision later on or a support so you can place these 3-5 wards each 3 min to make sure you team 1_ doesn´t get caught 2_ can catch the enemies ofgaurd (OMG noob ad low elo scrub got caught when he went top to get a few cs QQ---- ruin tenemy team morale and makes them flame and want to surrender)
i mainy played taric and skarner, i will advise to run AN AGRASIVE SUPPORT, why? 1_ you AD don´t know how to lane with a soraka/janna in most cases, soraka propelly worst support for a lvl2-4 all in engage and that WILL happen below 1300 in more then half the games of some weird reason. Alistar is propelly the best option or blitz (i think blitz got higher skillcap, so go for ali for easy elo or another support with reliable hard cc)
Amumu is unbanned will do good (imo) because:
pros:
he can gang from lvl 3-4 (huge + at low elo), is initiator jungler (huge + imo), is dobble gp/10 jungler giving good option for buying wards and you doesn´t fall to far behind in gold by ganging a lot
cons: not THE best ganker in the game, need first blue (not big problem in low elo because, is enemy invade they will most likely 'forget' to ward their own blue so you won´t lose more then max 1 min in clear time because of enemy lvl 1 invade)
Alistar:
pros gangs fom lvl 2 off, will let laners snowball heavely since enemy most likely doesn´t know how to adapt to a jungle alistar, dobble gp/10 jungler aka won´t fall to far behind on gold, sustain
cons questional lategame, considering he deals rather low dmg late game (trinity will help with that, but still low dmg imo) and won´t really do more then an support alistar would, still great jungler for snowballing your lanes and ending game early
Malphite is like another amumu, but i think the cons of having poor gangs early is a bit to high at low elo (skarner atleast got decent gangs before next, not good but still decent)
and now i realised this thead isn´t about raising from low elo and what champ there can do it but how low elo you has been
Edit: i´m just to confused right now, got another thead open next to this one names 'what´s the lowest elo you´ve ever been'.. and anyways it takes to long to write all the good jungler support for low elo, so in short
support´need inpact in lane, before 6 preferred. MAIN thing to do is to ward propelly and make it possiple for you team to catch enemies forcing it into 4v5 or better teamfights, is baron is unwardet make your team do it is you doesn´t think the enemy will show up.
jungler has to be able to execute rather early gangs, since everyone at low elo seems to be unable to handle their lane and survive gangs, once saw a jungle teemo lvl 2 gang bot with blue buff and got dobble kill....... the moments where you just want to go afk and scream at somebody/something. another think is you need to have inpact later on (maintion a few, noc/shyv/mundo/skarner/lee will murder enemy ad in teamfight, amumu/nautilius/malphite will initiate a fight in your favor and then fullfill another roles, malp as reduction, amumu w/e ever is neither, either cary protect or tank the enemies carried [stick to them forcing them to fokus you, even is you can´t kill them, huehuehue]
doesn´t feel like riting anymore right now, sorry for how the post looks and hope it is readable, since english isn´tt my native langues.
